From sports for leisure to elite athletes, we have opportunities for everyone at St Peter’s, Cambridge.

St Peter’s has a strong sporting culture, which reflects our body, mind and spirit ethos. There are pathways for students from participation level to high performance with an emphasis on positive experiences and excellence according to ability. We offer a wide range of individual and team sporting opportunities to meet students’ interests and talents. These include football, netball, rugby, cricket, cycling, equestrian, swimming, golf, rowing, tennis, lacrosse and hockey,

St Peter’s nurtures high performance sport. We have a strong track record of high performing teams and individuals across a variety of codes. We have produced New Zealand representatives and elite athletes who compete at the highest levels.

Our sports people enjoy world class facilities. These include gymnasiums, swimming pools, courts, turf, fields, tracks, an equestrian centre, a golf driving range, a boathouse at Lake Karapiro, and access to our national velodrome. These exceptional facilities allow St Peter’s to host regional and national teams such as the Chiefs (rugby), the Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic (netball), the New Zealand Rugby Sevens teams, Triathlon NZ, Bike NZ, Waikato Hockey and even the All Blacks.

There are ten sports academies at St Peter’s. These academies provide students with the use of highly specialised facilities, equipment and coaching.
