Parents Association

The Association membership is open to all parents and caregivers of current students at St Peter’s School. Its objectives focus on helping further the education of students by funding special projects, resources or activities as well as representing the interest of parents with the school, Trust Board and other school groups.

Past examples of Association funding support include the school swimming pool, student leadership courses, grants for extra classroom, cultural and sporting resources. This year our support will include helping the Board with building costs for one of the chalets at Waimarino, the school’s outdoor education facility at National Park, so all ages of students can enjoy this multiple learning facility.

In addition to promoting and encouraging a good flow of information between the school and parents, we have also planned some social opportunities for parents to get together during the year. We also provide an online student/parent directory via the parent portal on the school website.

The Association committee is a mix of day and boarder parents to help cover varying interests and concerns. It also includes Mr Robb, the School Principal, some of his management team, a staff representative and the Head Boy and Girl. This allows us to have up to date information on school activities and future plans. We also provide a parent representative on the School Board to ensure there is an opportunity for our interests and concerns to be taken into account from a governance perspective. Karen Blue is the Association’s current Board Representative.
