St Peter's Golf students do well at World Schools Golf Challenge in Melbourne

During the 1st week of the school holidays St Peter’s Golf Academy had 12 players competing in the World Schools Golf Challenge held on Melbourne’s Mornington Peninsular. Venues were 4 of the best courses the world has to offer, St Andrews Beach, Eagle Ridge, Moonah Links Open and Legend.

Over 96 players competed in this event with schools as far away as Namibia making the trip to compete. St Peter’s had a fantastic week winning 4 of the eight titles on offer; there was team success and individual success.

Matt Morris won Division One, shooting a new 4 round total PB 294 with rounds of 75, 76, 72 & 71.  His victory was by 5 shots.

Matt Scott won Division Three by a massive 10 shots, again a new PB and great reward for some very hard work. This is a credit to Matt who has only been playing golf for 16 months and is already down to a 12 handicap.

Con Ten Cate won Division Three, one of the youngest players competing in the tournament. Con holed an 8-foot putt on the last under pressure to win by a shot.

The 3 above players also won their Nett Sections, which is a first since the tournament began over 6 years ago.

Ryan Coxon, Kyra Alexander, Tian Chi Song & Con Ten Cate combined to win the Mixed Teams Event to win and finish runner up in the Nett Section.

A massive thanks to Janine Speedy, Simon Thomas, Wouter Ten Cate and New Zealand Rep Mat Perry for spending time to make the trip successful.
