TSS Sprint Meet and Camp, Gold Coast Australia

Wednesday, 11 until Sunday, 15 January 2012

Ten members from St Peter’s Swimming Academy’s Elite Squad travelled to the Gold Coast in Australia for an overseas swim camp from Wednesday, 11 January until Sunday, 15 January 2012.

The intensive five day training camp allowed the young swimmers to train side by side with members of the Australian and Chinese swim teams, exposing them to the conditions and dedication it takes to get to the top level in their sport. This training camp has been an important development opportunity for our swimmers, to not only watch World Champion and Olympic swimmers train, but to also train alongside, was priceless for the squad.

The squad ended the camp by attending the TSS swim meet, the boosted over 500 competitors from around the world, including National teams from China, Greece and Scotland.  The St Peter’s squad finished with 19 medals and numerous personal best times.

The coaching staff where really proud of how the team stepped up all the challenges that were put in front of them over the five days, and would like to thank everybody involved in getting the team to Australia.
