Enhanced Learning

The Enhanced Learning Centre at St Peter’s, Cambridge provides support to students with identified learning needs to enable them to reach their full potential.

Our approach is collaborative and inclusive, aligned with St Peter’s ethos of nurturing the body, mind, and spirit. We foster teamwork among students, families, and teachers to identify student needs and tailor learning paths accordingly.

The Enhanced Learning Centre empowers gifted students to reach their potential. Our goal is to help these students excel in their areas of interest and skill.

Students qualify for learning support through diverse assessments: entrance tests, previous school reports, school-based evaluations, standardized tests (e.g., MidYIS, PAT), educational psychology reports, and input from parents and caregivers.

Teachers use established methods to identify gifted students in their subjects, and self-nominations are also accepted.

The Enhanced Learning Centre provides various support:

  • Learning Assistants aid core classes in Years 7 and 8, plus English and Math in Years 9-11 where needed.
  • Support is available for special assessment conditions.
  • Progress is closely tracked through collaboration with teachers, deans, and support staff.
  • Tailored strategies ensure individual learning needs are met.
  • Modified Supported Learning programs are offered.
  • External assessments are arranged when needed.
  • We share relevant event information with students, parents, and staff.
  • Additional opportunities for personal development are provided.
  • Customised education plans can be prepared.
