Dr Micheal Brown holds a Doctor of Philosophy, Master of Indigenous Studies with13 distinction, and a Bachelor of Consumer and Applied Sciences. Dr Brown’s career in education, health, family violence, sexual abuse, disability, and te reo Māori spans more than 20 years. Dr Brown has significant senior level experience working with youth and whānau across a vast range of Wellbeing areas. His methodological and holistic approach to working with youth in a caring and forward-thinking manner has led Dr Brown to become the first person in New Zealand to be appointed to the full-time position of Director of Wellbeing in a school setting. Dr Brown’s previous employ at senior leadership level with Pinnacle Midlands Health Network, Enrich+ and Barnardos NZ has positioned Dr Brown well as a champion; to lead and extend the work St Peter’s are doing to maintain the St Peter’s Wellbeing curriculum as the benchmark for Wellbeing learning and culture in a school setting.

Stefanie was born and raised in Germany and made New Zealand her permanent home 15 years ago. She began her career 10 years ago and has qualifications in both Social Work and Psychotherapy. Stefanie has a passion for working with children and teenagers and has been lucky to have held some amazing positions that have allowed her to be a part of so many awesome young people’s journeys into adulthood. Stefanie has expertise in working therapeutically with youth who experience challenging and difficult times, this includes eating disorders, self-harm, and trauma. Stefanie also fiercely supports the rainbow community. Her role as Wellness Consultant and Counsellor for the students of St Peter’s also extends to supporting parents and staff, providing education, and making sure the Counselling service ticks along nicely.
BSocSci, PGDip (Psych)
Anna is one of the Counsellors in the Wellbeing Team. She has a background in Psychology and has also worked in the community disability sector for a number of years. Anna has been working towards a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Psychology, as well as a Masters of Social Sciences, but has taken time out from her studies to immerse herself in the St. Peter’s community. Anna enjoys working with students of all ages and has a particular interest in helping to guide our young women into flourishing adulthood. She strives to cultivate warm and supportive relationships with the students, as the central cornerstone in navigating the struggles of adolescence together.
MSc PG DiP ClPs
Dominique is a clinical psychologist with expertise in child and youth mental health and child development. She is passionate about positive psychology and supporting students to develop resilience and a sense of wellbeing in the face of life’s challenges. Dominique is originally from Cape Town and has two Kiwi teenagers of her own.
RN, MN, Nurse Prescriber
Karen has been nursing for over 25 years, mostly in the community. With the support of her husband and daughters, Karen has a Masters of Nursing. In 2016 Karen became the first Nurse Prescriber in NZ. With two daughters aged 16 and 20, Karen is familiar with adolescents and the delights (and challenges) they bring. Karen is passionate about nursing, the education that can be given to help students improve their health, assisting in medication management and how medications work - and guiding students in decision making. In her newly appointed role as St Peter’s Health Clinic Nurse Manager, Karen is rewarded with positivity and friendliness on a daily basis from staff and students at St Peter’s.
Diploma in Nursing
Bridgit has been nursing for 25 years, she gained her nursing registration and a Diploma of Nursing in Christchurch and comes from a rural background. She joined the St Peter’s School Health Clinic n 2018 after relocating to Matangi with her husband and two children. Before coming to St Peter’s, Bridgit spent 17 years working in Primary Health Care as a Practice Nurse. Bridgit is passionate about nursing, youth health and the opportunity to promote and support the health and wellbeing of students in their journey at St Peter's.
Bachelor of Nursing
Joanne has 23 years of nursing experience. For 17 years she worked at Starship Hospital in the Paediatric and Congenital Cardiology Service as a senior nurse. This was a very challenging environment but gave her a strong background to be able to support youth of all ages and their families. Jo then moved her nursing focus to youth health becoming the nurse at Takapuna Grammar School. Her new passion gave her the opportunity to support, promote health and educate young people in a school environment. At the beginning of 2018 Jo moved with her husband and three children to Cambridge where she now has the privilege of working with and supporting the students of St Peter's.

At St Peter’s we welcome prospective families to open days throughout the year. Open days are a good chance to experience our school environment and meet our staff and students.
