NCEA

NCEA is a forward-thinking approach to education because of its flexible structures and assessment, which allow students to demonstrate skills and knowledge through authentic learning contexts. This highly regarded qualification is recognised around the world.

St Peter’s offers diverse subject options, thanks to NCEA's flexible course structure. Students can tailor their studies to align with their future goals or explore a broad range of subjects for a well-rounded education. Year 12 students study six subjects, while Year 13 students take five subjects along with a study line.

We offer NCEA Levels 2 and 3, allowing students to potentially blend work from multiple levels within a school year to cater to their needs.

Our academic planning and tracking systems assist students in selecting courses that meet NCEA requirements at each level, and they can monitor their progress throughout the year. Career guidance is also available to ensure students understand the entry requirements for their chosen tertiary education or career path.

NCEA employs a standards-based assessment model, where learning is evaluated through standards, each assessed using suitable methods, including both internal and external assessments. This approach accommodates diverse learning styles.

An impressive 84% of our students pursue a university education, with Level 2 often being the minimum requirement. Most of our students continue to Level 3, where University Entrance is typically achieved. Families are encouraged to check university websites for specific course entrance requirements or seek guidance from our student' futures advisors.
