Former Head Girl Hana-Rae Seifert

From international golf to legal career

Former St Peter’s Head Girl and Golf Academy student Hana-Rae Seifert (2009) came in yesterday to talk to our students about her journey since leaving school and the different pathways that have led to a career in law.

Playing golf at top level led to Hana-Rae to apply for an internship at the global company International Management Group (IMG). Out of 3,000 applicants, Hana-Rae was selected as one of two interns to work at IMG in their golf division.

Working at IMG saw Hana-Rae travelling the world working at some of the most prestigious golfing events alongside some of the best golfers such as Lydia Ko, Dustin Johnson and Rickie Fowler.

Be bold and create your own opportunities.

After seven years' study at the University of Waikato, Hana-Rae graduated last year with a Bachelor of Laws with Honours, majoring in law and sport.

Fresh off the plane this week from London, Hana-Rae has returned home indefinitely (for now) and is set to start her new career with a law firm in Auckland on Monday.

Hana-Rae’s main advice to our students was to differentiate yourself, be bold and create your own opportunities.
