Exciting news for the St Peter’s, Cambridge Equestrian Academy.
Olympic Equestrian Coach Erik Duvander, a highly regarded eventing coach with over 30 years’ experience working within a high performance environment, has begun training St Peter’s riders.
Erik is back in New Zealand after many years coaching the New Zealand High Performance riders internationally.
He is really excited to be getting back to doing what he loves most, which is training and developing new generation riders.
Since transitioning from rider to coach, Erik has led teams from Japan, Sweden and New Zealand to the Olympic and World Games.
He has coached at four Olympic Games, five World Championships and hundreds of top-end International Events around the world and was selected to participate in the highly regarded High Performance Coaching programme (CAP).
Nicola Hammond had a great finish to the show jumping season at the Glistening Waters ESNZ Series Final show in Masterton on 1 and 2 April.
The Year 13 student started off the show by winning the 1.30m Horse Welcome Stakes being clear in both the first and second rounds and having the quickest time.
In the Young Rider Series Grand Final, Nicola and Carlo were one of three clear rounds to go through to the jump off, where they had two unlucky rails to finish third.
Nicola also qualified for the "long list" to represent Singapore in show jumping at the South East Asian Games (SEA Games) in Kuala Lumpur this August.
Michaelee Head won the final of the NRM Equitation held at Solway Park, Masterton, which gave her the overall win in the NRM Pony Riders National Equitation Series for the 2016/17 season.
Michaelee also placed 2nd in the Aniwell High Points final, which meant she came 3rd in the National Aniwell High Points Series for the 2016/17 season.
Lindsay Everton will be representing New Zealand in Showing as a member of the NZSHC Team.
Next week Lindsay will be competing in the Youth Hack 15 – 17 years at Equifest, the Grand National Show and at Sydney Royal Show.
