This weekend the St Peter’s Under 14’s and Under 15’s will play in semi-finals.
Under 15’s
This season the team have grown each week learning how to deal with the pressures of being behind on the scoreboard and fighting their way back into games.
A team focus of winning the little battle in every moment of the game has kept things simple and added clarity for the leaders within the team to keep the team motivated and positive on the field.
The Waikato Under 15A division has been very competitive this season with teams playing each other before splitting into Top 4 and Bottom 4.
Losses to Hamilton Boys High School Under 15B Team, Hamilton Boys High School Black Team and a win over Morrinsville in the Top 4 will see the St Peter’s Under 15’s play Hamilton Boys High School Black. St Peter’s Under 15 have won and lost one against the Black team this season.
Key players lost to injury, Joe Briggs, George Roberts and Cameron Creswell have opened the door for new player Bronson Clark, getting a starting position each week. Bronson who started on the wing is now a key player at lock. With his acceleration and strong ball carries he will be a key player at semi-final time.
Mathew Alexander has been a work horse in the contact and will also be key to slowing down opposition ball.
Shaye Retemeyer will need to be supported well by senior players Justin Vela – Reynolds, Henri Fromont and Guy Johnston to capitalise and turn Shaye’s line breaks into points.
Dawson Smith at first five, halfbacks Ollie Louden and Sam Sheaff will need to be accurate with their kicking game to get the team into the right part of the field.

Under 14’s
The Under 14’s have set the standard in the A division this season with eight games played, seven wins, one loss, 205 pts for 54 against 26 tries.
The forwards pack have produced quality ball from set piece and phase play.
Battling for a final spot this Saturday the boys will play St John’s College. Last time we played, St. John's were runners up, losing 10-7.
The team has been solid since preseason working hard at every training and during the three week break to prepare for each game.
Boys have played where asked to, and have been doing what’s best for the team. The team is led by senior players who last year were Gwynne Shield Champions and a Roller Mills representative, Captain Andrew Smith.
