U15 Boys' Rugby Runners-up at Tournament

U15 Tournament at Lindisfarne College

U15 Boys’ played a total of four games in the U15 Tournament at Lindisfarne College in Hastings. They won all three pool matches, before losing to the hosts in the final to come runner-up in the competition.

Team huddle

Coaches Mr Chris Powell and Mr Jordan Farrington say the team were confident about making the final this year, with the U14 team winning their competition and the U15’s coming third.

“The boys had been training together as a unit since the end of the season and put in a serious training regime of four days a week in preparation" said Mr Powell.

"With this team being a good mix of students from both U14 and U15 teams, we were hopeful for some good results.

“Rathkeale was an arduous encounter, with two very good teams similar in size playing very hard against each other.

"Defensively, with superior line speed, we nullified a threatening attack while tactically being accurate. And the boys scored some superb team tries.”

Brandon Lowther, Shaye Retemeyer, Dawson Smith and Cory Garland were all awarded ‘Man of the Match’ during the tournament.

Cory Garland was also ‘Player of the Tournament’.

St Peter’s beat Palmerston Boys’ High 45-0. They also won 15-0 against St John’s and beat Rathkeale 19-7.

They lost to Lindisfarne College, 10-29 in the final.
