Over two weekends in March, St Peter’s hosted the North Island Inter-Schools Dressage and Show Jumping Events.
The first series in the St Peter’s North Island Inter-Schools Show Jumping held on the weekend of 27 and 28 March, was a huge success, with St Peter’s retaining the trophy. Over 20 schools, 115 horses and 150 riders came to the St Peter’s Equestrian Academy over the weekend, with each horse and rider combination completing two rounds of show jumping. It was fantastic to see some new faces, and entries from schools that had not entered before such as Kaharoa School and One Tree Hill College.
The courses were built by FEI 3* course designer Philippa Howells. We had ponies compete on the Saturday, and horses on the Sunday. St Peter’s rider Hannah Coley stole the show on the Saturday, winning both of her 60-70cm classes against almost 30 other riders.
