Head of Visual Arts invited to exhibit at Venice Biennele

The beautiful print - Riroriro

Faith Thomas, St Peter’s Head of Faculty for Visual Art has been invited to submit one of her mezzotint prints, “Riroriro” for a collaborative artwork titled “Borderless” which will be exhibited at Centro Espositivo San Vidal in Venice for two months during the Venice Biennale 2022.

This is a project through SHIM Printmaking – Mezzotint group, who are part of Artsy, a New York art brokerage with the largest digital platform in the world representing artists from over 4000 galleries.

Faith will have a further 6 mezzotints on the Artsy website virtual gallery and work will be sent in spring to a gallery show, currently scheduled in New York and Connecticut galleries. Further exhibitions are being finalized in Miami, Print Austin, Chelsea NYC as well as other venues in Canada and Europe.

As the only New Zealand Printmaker invited to this prestigious exhibition of 40 international artists, Faith believes this reflects her commitment and passion for mezzotint printmaking and her international reputation which has been established over 40 years.

International exhibitions have included six years with the Douro Biennial and International Print Show 2017-2022, International Mezzotint Festival, Ekaterinburg 2019 and 2021, and shows in Germany, USA, United Kingdom, Japan and Australia.

Faith is proud to share her journey with the St Peter’s community who have always supported and respected her professional practice, valuing the strength it brings to teaching.
