St Peter's Foundation

St Peter’s, Cambridge was founded on the vision and generosity of Arthur Broadhurst in 1936. Not only did he fund the establishment of the school himself, he donated it to a trust to administer, and he personally paid the school fees of a large number of students to ensure that quality education was available of a wide cross-section of New Zealanders.

Philanthropy has always been at the heart of the St Peter’s community. A philanthropist founded our school, and over the last eighty years, the ongoing generosity of parents, alumni, supporters, staff, and students has helped to keep Arthur Broadhurst’s intentions alive. In educating students to become responsible global citizens, we actively encourage philanthropic values like generosity, compassion, volunteering, sharing resources, giving back, and environmental concern.

St Peter’s School is a charitable trust. The money raised from school fees covers the day-to-day running of the school. Sponsorship and philanthropy allow us to keep developing St Peter’s facilities, continue providing scholarships, and support students to continue at our school in financial hardship. There is no profit. There are no shareholders. All donations are used to benefit our school and the wider community. With the help of our donors and partners, we can continue to offer incredible opportunities to students in the future.

On behalf of the St Peter’s community, thank you to all donors and partners of St Peter’s, Cambridge.
