Tennis at St Peter’s, Cambridge has produced many talented players who have represented New Zealand internationally

St Peter’s has first class facilities including hardcourt and synthetic clay surfaces for tennis coaching and play.  Coaching by professional qualified instructors occurs in small, well matched groups allowing maximum individual focus.

Our tennis programme caters for all students from Year 7 to 13.

Programme Structure

Our beginner programme is for players who have not had previous tennis coaching.  The main goal is to learn a solid foundation for their tennis to develop.

Our intermediate programme is for players with basic skills and is aimed at students who are playing tournaments and interclub regularly and aspire of making a regional or national squad.

Our competitive programme is for players who demonstrate highly skilled shots and a good tactical awareness in matches.  These students will be competing in regular tournaments and are ranked in the region within their age group.

Our academy programme is designed for junior tournament players in Years 7 and 8 who show a commitment to further develop their tennis skills.  The professional training environment helps our students achieve their individual tennis goals and is tailored to their specific level (strictly limited numbers and invitation only).

All sessions develop the fundamental skills in a fun, friendly environment whilst improving each child's hand-eye coordination, ball and racquet skills, balance and basic swing techniques.  This helps the student develop not only their tennis, but also their athletic capabilities and therefore their love for playing the game.
