The purpose-built Agriculture & Horticulture Classrooms at St Peter’s, Cambridge adjoin our own demonstration dairy farm, Owl Farm, providing students with a holistic learning environment on fertile Waikato farmland.
The hub for Performing Arts at St Peter’s is the Thornton Block, named after former principal David Thornton. All academic music classes are held in this block, along with itinerant music tuition and extracurricular music groups.
St Peter’s, Cambridge has four boarding houses for boys, each named after a significant figures in our school’s past: Morris (Years 7–10), Riddet (Years 9–11), Oliphant (Years 11–12), and Broadhurst (Years 12–13).
St Peter’s, Cambridge has four boarding houses for girls: School (Years 7–10), Lippincott (Years 10–11), Wrigley (Years 11–12), and Beaufort (Years 12–13). School House is named for its location in the original St Peter’s school building. Our other girls houses are named after significant figures in our school’s past.
The Bodle Courts is an outdoor facility consisting of six plexipave netball courts and eight plexipave tennis courts.

The Chapel is the heart of our school. When it was consecrated in 1936, our founder, Arthur Broadhurst, emphasised that, “In a very real sense the Chapel is, and must be, the centre of our life here: our Christian religion must, and does, supply the motive for all our work and activities.”

St Peter’s, Cambridge has three hardcourts and three synthetic clay courts located next to the Robb Sports Centre.
The sports fields at St Peter’s, Cambridge are recognised as being among the best grass playing surfaces in the country. Our students use them on an almost daily basis for training and matches but our expert team of grounds staff still maintain them in top condition. Our fields maintain excellent grass cover in all seasons. Every year our grounds staff scarify the playing surfaces and over-seed with new rye-grass. All our fields are fertilised twice a year to support fresh, healthy grass growth and recovery.
Eating lunch in the dining hall is part of tradition at St Peter’s, Cambridge, an experience shared by every student over the decades. Our dining hall has significant cultural value as one of the original buildings at St Peter’s, Cambridge. It was expanded in 2000 in keeping with the architectural style created by Roy Lippincott.
The materials workshops at St Peter’s, Cambridge give our students hands-on experience working with a wide range of materials, including wood, plastic and metals. Our students learn to use traditional hand tools, power tools and also modern fabrication processes.
The Equestrian Park at St Peter’s, Cambridge gives our riding students the top-quality facilities needed to keep and care for their horses on site.
The Golf Academy at St Peter’s, Cambridge is New Zealand’s leading golf training facility. It gives our students unparalleled access to expert coaching, cutting-edge technologies and superb practice areas.
St Peter’s, Cambridge has an all-weather floodlit artificial hockey turf. It is used by all our hockey teams throughout the year. In addition to the playing area there is a practice turf space where teams can warm up. Our coaches also use this confined space for focussed training sessions.
The Horton Gym is a multi-purpose courts facility. It has an electronic scoreboard and can be configured as a full-size court for basketball and netball, four full-size badminton courts, a full-size volleyball court or four half-size volleyball courts. It also has numerous table tennis tables which can be set up and stored away. This flexibility gives our students a wide range of training and recreational options in any weather and throughout the year.

The Library and Information Centre at St Peter’s, Cambridge inspires our students to read, research and learn. It is a modern, spacious facility, filled with natural light, overlooking the green expanses of our sports fields.
The mountain bike track at St Peter’s, Cambridge is very popular with our students. It provides excellent skills development opportunities for our mountain bikers and endless entertainment, particularly for our boarders on the weekends. Our students took the initiative in building the mountain bike trail and they are rightly proud of it.
St Peter’s, Cambridge and Lincoln University Demonstration Dairy Farm
St Peter’s, Cambridge is surrounded by our own dairy farm — Owl Farm. It extends the peaceful, spacious feeling of the campus, which supports the all round well-being of our students. Owl Farm plays a significant role in our school’s focus on agribusiness and agriscience, working closely with our Business and Entrepreneurial Centre. It provides practical learning experiences for students that complement classroom learning. Our students also use cross-country and running tracks on the farm for fitness training.
Years 7-8
The Junior Block is the home of our Year 7–8 students (affectionately known as our "Prep students" or "Preppies") at St Peter’s, Cambridge. Its location in the heart of our school reflects the fact that St Peter’s was originally a preparatory school. The Junior Block has been purposely designed to facilitate holistic education and to give our Year 7–8 students full access to the fantastic facilities and opportunities at St Peter’s.
The Robb Sports Centre (RSC) is the jewel in the crown of our sports facilities at St Peter’s, Cambridge. It provides a wealth of opportunities that support the body, mind, and spirit development of our students.

Our students learn to research and analyse the impact of the past on our world today. They also engage with current global issues such as migration, human rights, and environmental sustainability.

A National High Performance Centre Right Here in Our School Grounds
The velodrome is a world class 250-metre wooden cycling track situated right next to St Peter’s, Cambridge. It is the base for CyclingNZ, TriathlonNZ, a High Performance Sport NZ gym, and the University of Waikato’s sports science laboratory, He Puna Oranga Tinana.
Te Awa walkway and cycle trail to Cambridge is a public path between St Peter’s, Cambridge and the centre of Cambridge. It runs alongside the Waikato River, away from roads, and takes about 15 minutes by bike or 40 minutes on foot.
