The cycling programme at St Peter’s School, Cambridge began in 2014 to coincide with the opening of the Grassroots Trust Velodrome.

This world-class facility and Cycling New Zealand situated on-site provides unrivalled opportunities for aspiring cyclists in Road, Track and Mountain Bike.

Led by three-time Olympian and St Peter’s Alumna Rushlee Buchanan, the St Peter’s Cycling Programme is under world-class supervision. 

Our dedicated coaches are experienced across all cycling disciplines and provide growth and performance opportunities for all St Peter’s students.

Programme Structure

Track Cycling  Open to Years 7-13. There are dedicated sessions once a week with opportunities for skill development and racing. 

Mountain Biking  Open to Years 7-13. There are three sessions per week in Terms 1, 2, and 4. Mountain Bike training is done at Te Miro, Pirongia or Rotorua MTB Parks and overseen by two experienced Mountain Bikers. 

Road Cycling  Open to Years 7 – 13, There are one to two sessions per week that are dedicated to development and racing.
